Why should I vote? Why does this matter? What IS Order 66, anyway?
As with any matter taken up in the Senate, you will probably have many questions about Order 66. Well, I hope that with this page, I can answer them.
What is Order 66?
Simply put, Order 66 is something that was 'programmed' into the Grand Army of the Republic at its inception. It is an order that declares all Jedi are enemies and are to instantly be destroyed. And this means ALL Jedi, not just the Masters or the Jedi fighting in the Outer Rim. Every single Jedi, from the oldest Master to the smallest Youngling, is to be destroyed. No one really knows how this order came about or who 'programmed' it into the Clones, but we Jedi do know on thing; this cannot be allowed to happen.
Why should I vote 'no'?
If put through, Order 66 will, in effect, destroy the Jedi Order for no reason.
Why does the Republic need the Jedi?
It is a simple matter of record. For over a thousand generations, the Jedi have been the protectors of the Republic; always there when needed, always ready and willing to help. Until the start of the Clone Wars three years ago, we have functioned as simple keepers of the peace. But after the Battle of Geonosis, it became aparrent that our role as simple protectors could last no longer. We were called to help, and help we did. If Peace is to continue in the Republic, the Jedi must be allowed to keep their place.
